Staying in (and around) Kent

Our headquarters for the weekend has ample room for us to hang out, to play, and to generally have a great time!

What it does not have is enough bedrooms for all of the many Yanks to stay. We are a large and mighty clan.

Fortunately, the property and the surrounding area offer a variety of lodging options with a variety of vibes and at a variety of price levels.

Here are a few, but don’t be afraid to do your own research.

Important locations you might want to be close to:

The house is at 3 Camps Flat Road in Kent, CT.
The golf course is at 401 Danbury Road in New Milford, CT.

Non-hotel options…

The Victorian - 81 North Main Street, Kent
The Firefly Inn - 88 North Main Street, Kent
The Garden Cottages - 9 Railroad Street, Kent

Two boutique hotels and a little clutch of rental cottages, all clustered together in downtown Kent.

236 Kent Road, New Milford

270 Kent Road, South Cornwall Bridge

9 Elm Street, New Milford

80 Newtown Road, Danbury

There are a bunch of other chain hotels in Danbury. It’s a little further away, but there are a lot of options there.

Airbnb, Vrbo and other rental sites are absolutely an option. As always when doing business on the internet, keep your wits about you. We would strongly advise against using sites like Craigslist to find accommodations. That way scams lie.

Camping is also absolutely an option. There is a lot of space on the grounds where you could pitch a tent or park an RV. The house is also about 15 minutes from Macedonia Brook State Park, which has campsites available. If you’re planning to book a campsite, book early. On the east coast, campsites tend to book up as summer gets closer.
